MCM Comic Con - Birmingham
A bit of a different post from me today guys. No fashion or beauty but an insight into my geekiness.
There was no post yesterday due to me being at MCM Comic Con in Birmingham and having the time of my life.
This was a very last minute decision from Jamie as we both happened to have Sunday off work and only planned to visit a Car Boot (which was pretty disapointing) so at half 9, we headed down to Brum for our day out.
Comic Cons are often seen as very geeky, and yes, you wouldn't be far wrong. I like to geek out over such things as Disney, old video games and anything that reminds me of my childhood etc but I've never been the RolePlay / Anime type girl which the convention had quite a few of, but I think its nice that people can finally be who they want to be at these things.
The main reason I wanted to go was the simple fact that 3 actors in the TV show, Sleepy Hollow were going to be there. Its not a massive hit over here just yet so the Q&A panel wasn't full of people which I loved as it actually allowed me to see them and appreciate it all with the people who have clearly taken the time to get into such an underrated show. I think its going to pick up but perhaps come Season 2 like most American shows over here. The panel featured Katia Winter, Nikki Beharie and Lyndie Greenwood, so pretty much the three main females from the show who all seem so lovely and its nice to see actors so grateful for their fans! Its rare a TV show has such a strong female cast so its even better to feel that sense of 'girl power' back on our screens. The inner Journalist in me was dying to ask questions as people were asking interesting but kinda cliche questions which I'm sure they hear over and over again.
All I wanted to know was which demon/monster they most feared? (granted thats cliched but least its personal and relevant)
I didnt get chance to meet the girls as we had to leave but I would have loved too purely so I could ask a million questions in the space of 5 seconds!
Sleepy Hollow has been my HUGE love this past year (along with The Following) and although history infused tv isnt normally my thing, they mix together comedy / tension and my fave, a bit of horror (if you havent seen the Sandman, then trust me, you'll freak out).
Overall I had an amazing day, for my first Comic Con and not knowing what to expect I loved it. I didn't feel uncomfortable and I'll admit, I wanted to be a Disney Princess like the other girls!
I did walk away with some bits though so all was not lost. I'll admit my purchases arent exactly 'geeky' but thats purely for the fact that we're in the process of throwing away things we won't actually use so I don't think I could justify buying a 6 foot Gonzo muppet!!
My New Disney Plates!! :) These are the ones I finally chose as you saw up there, there was so many to choose from (and that wasnt all of them). These were a gift from Jamie, I honestly love them so much! Theyre just so pretty, I usually find plates quite tacky but the pictures are so vivid, I couldn't resist.
You can check out about future MCM events on their website here.
We're already wanting to plan our next one.
Have you been to one of these before or have an inner geeky pleasure??
xXx

My Month Of Primark Haul
As I hit university and said Hello to student loans, my shopping and fashion habits also ventured out and my love for Primark fell and I hated the fabrics/cut/feel/wearability and just didnt enjoy what the shop had to offer.
Now I've hit the real world again for some reason, I've found my love again for the high street shop.
Not because I'm poorer than I was but the shop itself has got better I think. They've started to plow better quality on the shelves and I think my hating phase has helped as I know exactly what I like / don't like to buy when I enter the shop now.
The past month I've been building up a collection of bits which I thought I'd show you guys...
The Simpsons T-shirt - £8
I adore this!! As soon as I saw it, I rushed to find my size! I reckon this will a top seller
I hate to admit buying things like this as I think the whole 'classic rock' band t-shirt is abit overdone especially on girls who buy these tops with NO IDEA who the bands are. I'll happily admit I'm not a huge fan but a) My boyfriends favourite band is Guns and Roses so this has given me big brownie points and b) The shorts are adorable ;)
Snow White Socks - £2
My love for disney all over - I adore Primarks disney range but I'm trying to not get carried away, I've nearly bought it all!
Shaped Swimming Costume - I actually can't remember how much this was
I thought this was a great idea espeically as I hate myself in a costume as it is. I think it was about £7 so I couldnt really say no to this!
Floral Top - £8
Underwear - £1 each
Grey PJ Bottoms - £5
Fast Food PJ's - £6 How amazing are these!!
Wellies - £10I bought these purely for our dog walks as I was sick of having wet feet and constantly worried about mud!
Snow White T-shirt - £8
Floral Print Leggings - £2
These were reduced from £6 but I thought they were lovely to wear with a big plain t-shirt
Waterbottle - £1.50As I've recently got on the gym bandwagon, I thought this was a great purchase. It also includes a freezer stick which is a great feature to keep the water cold!
Sunglasses - £3
I'm normally quite picky with sunglasses finding alot of them don't suit me, but I thought these were lovely! The metal arms are lovely and it even comes with a case.
Jelly Shoes - £4
I realllly want some JUJU shoes this summer but I'm worried for £26 they'll rub or generally be awful on me so I've bought these as a bit of a dupe trial run just to see how I feel about them!
Have you bought anything nice from Primark recently? Let me know with a link below and I'll no doubt go out and buy them myself!!

Holiday Fashions - British Getaway
Yesterday I showed you everything I was planning on taking on holiday with me in the line of beauty tomorrow!
So today I'm going to show you all the bits I've packed too!
Now I'm full aware I'm going for a week, and yes, I know I have enough clothes for 2 weeks.
My justification in this is simple:
1) you never know what you're going to want to wear when you wake up. You might think you do but if you suddenly feel like the biggest girl ever, that bodycon isnt going to fill you with confidence.
2) Its a British holiday...in the Lake District... I don't know what the weathers going to be like. If you go to Cyprus, you know what you're getting but the UK is so unpredictable.
Anyway, I've taken a few photos for you guys to check out with a bit of detail below as I don't think theres anything more annoying than seeing bloggers clothes and not knowing where they've bought it from so I thought I'd help anyone out.
Dresses
Tarten Dress - Ark - Post where I bought this here
Grey Skater Dress - Topshop
Owl Dress - Purplish London - This was a Christmas present from my mum, a similar one can be found here
Long Tops
Floral Print - Primark
Baseball Style - Primark

Skirts
I know this seems a lot but all 3 are completely different style and fit on me.

What are your holiday must-haves? Please let me know if I'm forgetting anything!!!
I won't be posting live until next week but don't forget I will be bringing you a rundown of all the Benefit Skincare range next week, you can find the preview here!!

Holiday Make-Up & Skincare Must Haves
As I mentioned yesterday, I'm going on holiday on Monday. Its only a British Lake District holiday but although my love for beauty/fashion means cities are a must, I adore getting back up North and walking around the Lakes, discovering new finds and the charity shops are 10x better due to everyone that lives been there being filthy rich.
Choosing which make-up/skincare/haircare is never an easy task for me as owning alot of it, I never know what I want to use.
Annoyingly at the moment I'm in that 'running out' phase on a lot of my products so I know, my luck means I will run out half way through our holiday.
I thought I'd split these up into 3 sections and make them short and sweet!!
MAKE UP
I was originally going to take a lot of sample/smaller products on holiday but then I realised I save my 'best' make up for special occasions and this is technically one of them so I thought I'd take good make up with me.
Includes:
Mac Prep and Prime - Primer
Rimmel Take the Day Off - Foundation
Benefit Hello Flawless - Foundation (this is running low hence the other one coming along too)
Benefit Coralista - Blusher
Benefit Browzings - Eyebrows
Benefit Hell Flawless - Powder
Mac in Cockney - Lipstick
Urban Decay Basics - Eyeshadow Palette
Chapstick Cherry - Lipbalm
Berts Bees - Lipbalm
Benefit Fake Up - Concealer
Topshop Lip Bullet - Lipstick
Collection 2000 - Eyeliner
Benefit They're Real - Mascara
Maybelline Colour Balm - Lipstick
Benefit High Beam - Highlighter
Benefit Gimme Brow - Eyebrow Gel
Mua Bronzed Perfection - Bronzer
Liquid Lock for Lipstick
Brushes
Regardless of where I am, my brushes are a must and I find it hard to not use them. I'm taking 2 Real Techniques brushes, a blending brush, 2 ELF brushes, a Barry M eyeliner brush, No 7 Eyebrow brush and a Cosmopolitan Powder brush.
I'm taking them in this beautiful What Katie Made brush roll (£10) , I'm going to do a post on her products in the coming weeks as she makes the nicest things!!!
HAIRCARE
A small haircare range. I'll technically only be washing my hair twice whilst I'm there so I've not gone over board so I have my trusty Tresemme Colour protection shampoo and conditioner. These were on 3 for 2 in Boots so I picked up a heat defence spray which smells beautiful.
I've also found these Lee Stafford dry shampoos and hair spray in my room which are small enough for the week.
SKINCARE
This was hard to choose what to take but I've narrowed it down to the following:
Perfumes:
Jimmy Choo - Flash (I found lots of sample bottles of this in my room so I've since swapped this to the 2ml versions)
Benefit - Laugh with me Lee Lee
Shower:
Lush Its Raining Men Shower Gel
Soap and Glory Clean on Me Shower Gel
Soap and Glory Body Butter
Face:
I decided to make this as simple as possible so I choose to go for the Clinque 3 step programme.
Clinque Make Up Remover - I wanted to take my Micellar water but theres no chance I'm trusting the flimsy lid.
and there you go... all packed in my Pug and Disney Villians bag.
I think I've done pretty well there!!
- also just to clarify I've not forgot cotton pads/sponge etc I just didnt want to bore anyone with those boring bits.
What do you think of my holiday supplies?? Am I forgetting anything??

New Look // Shopping Haul
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY YOU BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!
I've decided to not mention Valentines related stuff today mainly because I'm not actually spending the day with him today as he's at work and its my day off. We actually 'celebrated' on Wednesday with a cheeky Nandos. I'm going to post the outfit I wore this weekend at some point but I've been quite behind so instead you're going to have a Valentines infused weekend I'm afraid from me.
I've picked up a few bits this week which mainly consist of New Look items, I've become obsessed with that shop!! Its so affordable and I find it really easy to browse without feeling like theres just too much to look at which is often how I feel in the larger Topshop stores.
I think this is a weeks worth of bits I've picked up on my lunches and on Weds when we spend a few pennies on our valentines trip.
Black Dress - £19.99 - New Look - BUY
The link isn't to the exact same dress as mine is a simple button back design but its pretty much identical in style. The photo makes this look very frumpy but once on it looks so cute, i wore it straight down without anything pulling me in (mainly to hide my curvy bits) but it feels really lightweight so its great for a casual outing or even for a night out.
Tribal Statement Necklace - £7.99 - New Look - BUY
I mentioned this necklace in my post the other day (here) to brighten up the black dress. I adore gold on black, I usually do this in the way of studs/spikes/skulls so I love the tribal pattern in this necklace. It's over stated but not OTT so I don't feel like I'm making too much of an effort.
Leather Look Waterfall Jacket - New Look - £34.99 - BUY
This isn't the sort of jacket I normally opt for, infact, I never opt for jackets. I've always been quite an American Apparel hoodie girl so to venture out of my comfort zone is unlike me. I spent a good few trips in New Look debating weather or not I like this and with the help from the boyfriend, he said it looked good and tah dah, I own it now!
Seude Look Coat - New Look - Was £49.99 Now £25
I know I posted about this the other day (here) but I thought it was worth another haul mention. I've still not sewn it up btw but I need to asap as I plan on taking this on holiday with me in a few weeks time. Its so cosy and warm which is a big plus point with the horrendous weather we're suffering from currently.
Loreal Ever Riche Masque Spray - Boots - £6.99 - BUY
I bought this from a recommendation from a fellow blogger as I'm suffering from terrible hair at the moment. This masque is designed to be used as part of a standard hair wash so I'm hoping I'll start to put it in my routine. I'm excited to give this a go and will give it a review soon!
Winnie the Pooh Cushion - The Disney Store - £16 - BUY
Anyone who knows me, knows my obsession with all things Disney. As part of our valentines trip my boyfriend bought me this. Our house is full of this big face cushions we also own Nemo, Mike, Sulley, Simba and Tigger! I reallly want Marie from The Arisocats but they don't have it on sale at the moment! :(
Smooth and Shine Hairbrush - Boots - £7.99
If theres anything I hate most its buying lifes boring essentials. Spending £8 on a hairbrush to me is so painful when I could buy something pretty instead. I've shamefully spent far too long without a new brush so it was much needed
Ultimate Shine Shampoo Bar - Lush - £5.50 -BUY
Okay, I won't lie, this is actually my boyfriend product as I've never tried shampoo bars before and I'm always so picky over shampoos etc due to so many haircare problems in the past. However,I'm gonna give this a cheeky try this week as I smelt one I adored in the store so I'm hoping if all goes well I have a good excuse to go buy the one I want.
Have you had any shopping splurges lately? Or if you can give me any recommendations on Lushs' shampoo bars I'd love it!!?

Week #1
So today I found out I'll be graduating University with a 2:1 in Music Journalism and Broadcasting. Can't even explain how happy I am about this.
This is the start of each week in photos (mainly stolen off my instagram). I've spent a lot of it (6 days infact) a work trying to get in as many hours before i leave this Saturday! boo!
Clearly this week is surrounded by food and drink (and pretty shoes). I need to kick back into my healthy eating and lose some of this chunk for summer!
Gonna try and post as much as possible next week but my internets been cut off tomorrow as we're leaving our student house in the next few weeks but I shall be back on Sunday! Promise.
