Maybelline 24hr ColourTattoo in Permanent Taupe

 Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr - £4.99 - BUY

Throughout this blog, I've been singing the praises of these little pots! Not usually a huge eyeshadow fan due to me having quite small eyes - eyeshadow tends to look a bit stupid on me! However, after trying to break out of my comfort zone I decided to try these out and fell in love with the On and On Bronze shade - REVIEW HERE

Most of the shades in the range have a slight shimmer to the which although I've grown to like - I couldnt help but adore this Matte grey shade when I spotted it in store! - From the look of it on my arm, it isnt as pigmented as some of the other shades but does have a simple everyday grey touch thats perfect as an addon to any make up look.

Personally for me, this didnt cut it as much as the other shades as it smudged throughout the day on me - I'll admit, it was a hot day when I used it so a bit of slip and slide is pretty common but it looked stupid and was all the way up my eyes by the end of the day. I will be wearing this a bit more so hopefully it'll redeem itself and I'll come crawling back in a few months time!

Have you tried any of these shades? Which is your favourite??

This Weeks Beauty Buys Feat: Boots & Superdrug

Once again, I'm being pretty poor on here but this week I had a valid reason - we've had a pretty crazy week as one of our dogs got ridiculously i'll and we had to pretty much reevaluate everything and learn how to not spend a penny topay for her operation. I think I might do a post about Pyometra in dogs sometime soon as theres nothing personal online for help at all!

-- These buys were all bought before we took her to the vet before you think I've been spending when my dog needs the money more --

Superdrug

Real Techiques Powder Brush - £10.99 - BUY
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush -  £8.99 - BUY

I first entered the world of Real Techniques back in February (here)and havent looked back. Althought most bloggers refer to this as affordable and inexpensive - for me personally, Its not often I can justify spending a tenner on 1 make up brush so these are a slowly growing collection but I'm trying to slowly grow these - I did get the face brush for half price which is what sold me to add to my others.

MUA Blusher in 'Bubble Gum' - £1 - BUY
MUA Blusher in 'Cupcake' -   £1 - BUY

How could I not for £1? These are perfect handbag size and I plan on using a Benefit brush to apply these are theyre the exact same shape!

MUA LUXE Velvet Lip Lacquer in 'Reckless'- £3 - BUY
MUA LUXE Velvet Lip Lacquer in 'Funk' - £3 - BUY

The new LUXE rangeis amazing - my aim is to eventually buy all of these as theyre so beautiful - I want the purple one but they keep selling out as soon as its in!

Boots

Boots 3 for 2
 No7 Pointed Tweezers - £8 - BUY
Real Techniques Shading Brush - £7.99 - BUY
Real Techniques Mini Brush Trio - £9.99 - BUY

I'll admit, I only went in for the tweezers after years of sticking to my GOSH ones for so long. However, I turned around and saw the mini trio set and  couldnt believe that these have only just entered my life. I spent 3 years of uni planning my night out makeup for anything that didnt require a brush once I was out and now these have come to my rescue-perfect for slamdunk festival in a few weeks!
The shading brush is to add to my collection and it was free so why not?!

Maybelline Baby Lips - Boots Clearance -Was £2.99 Now £1 - BUY

You can't even tell in this photo but the back of the pack has ripped so I got this for £1!

This Weeks Beauty Buys feat. Lush, H&M, Boots Clearance, Topshop....and Poundworld?

This is a slight lie on my part as not all of these have been bought this week. I've actually bought some a few weeks back but as I've only bought 2 things, I didnt exactly think it called for an entire post.

Bunch of Carrots Bubble Bar - Lush - £5.95 for 3 - BUY

I actually posted about these here in February!!! (seriously, where is the time going?) and couldnt resist buying some a few weeks ago as a little self treat, I love that they're not only reuseable but the fact your get 3 for under £6 is a pretty good deal - I mean, I'd of bought one for £2 so selling them as a 3 makes sense. They smell so fresh and I cant wait to review these!

Wild Skirt - H&M - Was: £15  Now: £5

I actually bought this pattern in a Jumper a few months ago and couldnt resist this skirt - Its actually so tacky it looks good on me! If I wear this as the only colour/statement on me I think this will look amazing!

Black Washed Out Shorts - £12.99 - H&M

I bought these purely to wear to a Brand New gig this coming Monday, I adore the style of these and in fairness, I needed some shorts which were actually a good fit on me! (which is pretty depressing)

Umberto Giannini Stud Hair Band - Was £6 Now 50p - Boots (Clearance Section) - BUY

I should have probably taken this out of the pack as it looks odd here but its basically just a little head band that I thought for 50p was pretty good. This is actually still full price online but theyve been in my clearance section in Derby for a few weeks so I'd recommend checking out yours!

Boots Extracts Mango Mini Mix  - Now £1.50 - Boots Clearance

I dont know how much this used to be, but from the looks of the website they've changed the packaging so perhaps this is why theyve ended up on the clearance shelf! For a mini body wash and body butter though for £1.50 you can't go wrong!

Sheer Black Top - Topshop - Was £15 Now £3

I'll admit I didnt need this but every now and then in the sale I spot something for £3 and a little voice in me says 'You're in Topshop and this is £3....BUY IT' and then I do. I love a bargain especially in Topshop!

Nail Rock Caviar & Maybelline Baby Lips , £1 each, Poundworld

If theres one thing I'm not afraid to admit, its my love for a pound shop! Granted, theres a lot of rubbish in them but you can also find complete gems for brands - its often forgein versions / old stock or simply just familar brands. I think they're amazing for reviews though, especially if you're low on funds and if you hate it, its not the biggest blow to your bank account!

The Nail Rock was a very pleasing find as I've heard great things from beauty box bloggers who have recieved these!!!
The Baby Lips is actually the Japan/China (I'm sorry but I don't know the writing...if you do, please let me know below so I dont look so rude) version of the product so I thought for £1 I couldnt go wrong!!

I'm so tempted to put my top Pound shop finds on here...if you'd be interested in this idea please let me know!!!

What have you guys been buying recently, link me to your posts as I love to look at what everyone else has been buying for some inspiration!!!

Holiday Shopping and a quick update

Hello,

I'm back from a well deserved holiday with my boyfriend and the dogs. After a week in a beautiful secluded cabin in the woods (cue horror movie title), I am back to the real life smog that is Derby and back to work.

I had such a lovely week, we did very little, which was strange but I was more than getting used to it. We also had very limited 3g whilst we were in our cabin which again, was both infuriating but also really nice to just be with each other. The hours were mostly passed playing N64, Scrabble and discovering my new love of Nothing to Declare.

We did visit some small towns whilst there around Lake Windermere. After spending alot of my childhood there, it was strange to be back but also lovely and weird that nothings changed. We visited Windermere, Ambleside and Bowness which is my absolute favourite place. Jamie liked it too, which I was happy about as a London guy hes not used to so little signal and so much nature unlike me who adores all that.

It did mean my blogging got a bit short (I literally waited til we drove to a small town and was straight on blogger to get my posts up).

Anyway...I did get a tiny bit of shopping bits whilst in Bowness, its not the biggest shopping district but I did find one shop with some of the nicest things. On the plus side, I spent less on holiday than I do when I go to work.

A short and simple post today but here you go....

Maybelline 24Hr Superstay Concealer - Boots - £3.05 - BUY

I actually bought this in the clearance section as Boots are no longer stocking this as a main range product so I've linked to the full price item on Tesco instead. Its in an Ivory shade and as I recently bought a new Maybelline Foundation, I thought this would be a nice little purchase.

Muppets Coasters - £4.99 each - BUY

These are technically a gift I bought Jamie. As mentioned, we found a shop full of everything we love. It wasnt huge but it was like a dream of Baking / Handbags / Vintage Pieces / Rock (ACDC etc) merch / TV merch (think doctor who / big bang / muppets).

He didn't want to spend a tenner on two coasters which I can completely see why, and the shop was pretty pricey but thats the Lake District for you. However, we went back to Bowness on our last day and I went in alone and couldnt help but buy him something after he wanted them so much.
Plus we're making these our kitchen coasters now (we're so cool).

Music Note Necklace - £7.50
Typewriter Letter Necklace - £4.99

I saw these behind a cabinet in the lovely shop (again) and there were so many things I wanted. I had my eye on this music note necklace and knew that was something I needed in my life. To my lovely suprise, Jamie bought me both these bits so I got a really lovely gift from the holiday. I don't think I said thank you enough to him on the day hhaa!

Standard Holiday Souvenirs. I also bought a magnet but I forgot to take a photo of that.

You can't go to the Lakes without buying Kendal Mint Cake. If we go up again my plan is to visit Kendal, as Ive heard its lovely.

The penny press is one of those things I've always done and they're that few and far between that when I do see one I have to buy it. Infact, Jamie spotted it and offered to get it me cos he knows I'm sad when it comes to collecting them.

Heart Bag LYDC - £21.25 - BUY

My 2014 obsession seems to be heart shaped bags. Ultimately my goal is to buy a Vivienne Westwood one, I posted my Feb Lusts with a Floozie Heart bag I spotted, but this one stole my heard (no pun intended) I saw it whilst we were leaving the shop the first time and I talked myself out of it as £22 was good, I didnt know if I should. However, visting Bowness a second time I made up my mind I wanted it in my life and I do not regret it. I've used it every day so far and its such a babe. Its nice to actually have a lightweight bag for once.

so there you go..my holiday purchases. We also bought ALOT of sweets in an array of traditional sweet shops but those are long gone!

Have you bought any purchases on holidays?? Whats been your favourite buy on your travels??

This Weeks Beauty Buys

If Yesterdays post (here) wasn't enough shopping to kill my bank account including my cheeky new Urban Decay Palette and a new YSL lipstick I decided to have a little look in my local Superdrug for the newest products.

Theres nothing worse than when you actually find things you want (and don't have that much money). However I got all this for under £20 so its not too terrible.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr - £4.99 each -
40 - Permanent Taupe - BUY
55 - Immortal Charcoal - BUY

When it comes to eye colour, I'll admit I shy away from alot of vibrant colours so this year I'm going to make an effort to starting adding colour to my eyes in the form of greys/blacks and bronze/browns/gold etc.
These were on 3for2 in the Maybelline section so technically one of these was free so its a bit more guilt-free.
I reviewed the shade On And On Bronze last month (Review Here) and havent stopped loving it. I even like the shimmery look it gives and I tend to hate added sparkle. It wasnt until I got home I noticed that Permanent Taupe looks almost matte unless you put it right up to the light so I'm intrigued as to how thats going to look.

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation in Ivory - £8.99 - BUY

I'm no stranger to Maybelline foundation and I used to adore the Superstay 24hr product. As a drugstore product these are an absolute gem. I tend to be Ivory in a lot of foundations and I did test on my hand (naughty I know) but it blended in seamlessly so I knew I'd be okay. I can't wait to try this out and give it a full review. Also the SPF20 means I think this is going to be an ulimate go-to in summer!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - £3.22 - Not online

I've always been quite lazy when it comes to going out of my way to purchase Bioderma so when I saw this so cheaply on the shelf (there are other branded versions available) I couldn't resist! Every blogger raves about the power of Micellar Water so I'm excited to test it for myself. It looks gentle and states you get around 200 uses of it which is pretty good going for under £4.

Have you tried any of these products? I'd love to know what you think!?

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr - On and On Bronze

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr - On an On Bronze - £4.99 - BUY

When it comes to Eyeshadows, Its very much a beauty item that seems to have been and gone in my life. Growing up, It was the one vital part of my face everyday for school and since then I've stayed well clear of them of those cringey days and terrible colours I use to wear.
Whenever I try to go back and wear it, I often feel I looked pretty stupid with naturally small eyes and a love for black eyeliner it was all abit too much.

However, I think its now time to man up and try out some new shades.

I first read about these on another blog ageeees ago. Knowing they're the dupe of a MAC product actually makes me happy as its not often I can afford to approach the MAC counter everyday.

I cannot rate these enough. The colour you see in the pot is the exact same colour that applies to your lids, with a deeper richer colour the more you apply.

Unless I find the right products I'm a victim of the make up slip and slide parade and eyeshadows hate staying on my face yet the Colour Tattoos stay on my eyes ALL day. I mean all day, I've tested this for around a week and given that I apply my make up for work at about 7:30am, its still on my face by the time I get home after 5pm. I'll admit the bronze has started to fade but the slight glitter pigments remain.

I've already invested in my next shade of these with no doubt, many more to follow.

If youre after a shadow thats rich and lightweight then these are the ones for you! Theres a hige variety coming into stores and theyre available on all Maybeline stands on the highstreet.

Have you tried any of these? Whats your favourite shade?

This weeks beauty buys

So I've been a teeny bit naughty this week and bought a few new make up purchases that I've had my eye on for a couple of weeks.

As I'm fortunate enough to get paid weekly I hand my rent to my boyfriend in installments 3 times in the month meaning that 1 week I'm left with a slightly larger amount (minus smaller bills) .

So why not?

In my defense, All the Rimmel products were 3 for 2 in the offer currently running in Superdrug, so I did take advantage.
I've dabbled in a few Rimmel bits here and there but I keep hearing great things about such an affordable range of products.

Firstly I bought the New ScandalEyes Mascara: Rockin Curves - £6.99 - BUY. I've always loved their mascaras so I know I can't go wrong here. You've probably seen the advert for this on TV as it seems to be everywhere at the moment.

Secondly...Lipstick...Kate Moss. Need I say more? Everyone girl and her mother seems to love Kates range (I have far too many of her nail varnishes) I bought this in Shade 107 in the Lasting Finish range in a beautiful deep red shade.£5.49 - BUY

and my final Rimmel buy comes in the form of a Lasting Finish Colour Rush in shade 600 - On Fire- £5.99 - BUY. Its one step away from coral but just about peachy enough to not quite hit a red shade. Or at least this is what I'm hoping when I try it.

Maybelline - Baby Skin: Instant Pore Eraser - £7.99 - BUY
Stepping away to my slightly indecisive purchase, it took me 3 days of constantly walking into Boots to decide if I could tear myself away from my Benefit Porefessional Primer to try this one out. In the end, I obviously said 'go on then' mostly because its a new products by them and the Baby Skin range is HUGE and I'm hoping this is going to a decision that genuinely pays off.

REVIEWS - These will follow over the coming week or so when I've had a chance to give them a try.

Short and sweet today but let me know or link me to what you have been buying this week??
