Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water Review

Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water - £3.32 - BUY

The Micellar craze isnt exactly new but I was pretty late on the bandwagon. This is mostly because everyone was banging on about Bioderma and being too lazy to order anything online, I didnt bother with it and I wasn't going all the to France for some. Whilst I was doing my usual lunchtime rounds, I spotted this in Superdrug and for 400ml for under £4, I couldnt say no.

You've probably guessed from the photo that I obviously like this product! In hindsight I should've taken this photo at the start of use.

Its so perfect if you're like me and the ultimate lazy girl when it comes to your evening regime or prefer that extra 5 minutes in bed of a morning. It melts make up straight off your face and leaves it silky smooth.

The bottle states it provides about 200 uses and thinking about it, its probably right which again, is pretty good going for the price tag!

I've been using this for a few months now, my only downside I noticed is my skin has become drier recently (I'm taking the ever-changing weather conditions into account) and its not doing my skin many favours and I'm pretty much lapping my face in moisturiser before I put my make up on.

Overall if you're looking for a quick fix way to keep your skin clean and fresh then honestly, Micellar water in general is the one. I've now finished this and even though I'm going to try something new - I just don't think you can go wrong with a bottle of this in your cabinet!

Have you tried any Micellar waters? How they work on your skin?

This Weeks Beauty Buys

If Yesterdays post (here) wasn't enough shopping to kill my bank account including my cheeky new Urban Decay Palette and a new YSL lipstick I decided to have a little look in my local Superdrug for the newest products.

Theres nothing worse than when you actually find things you want (and don't have that much money). However I got all this for under £20 so its not too terrible.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr - £4.99 each -
40 - Permanent Taupe - BUY
55 - Immortal Charcoal - BUY

When it comes to eye colour, I'll admit I shy away from alot of vibrant colours so this year I'm going to make an effort to starting adding colour to my eyes in the form of greys/blacks and bronze/browns/gold etc.
These were on 3for2 in the Maybelline section so technically one of these was free so its a bit more guilt-free.
I reviewed the shade On And On Bronze last month (Review Here) and havent stopped loving it. I even like the shimmery look it gives and I tend to hate added sparkle. It wasnt until I got home I noticed that Permanent Taupe looks almost matte unless you put it right up to the light so I'm intrigued as to how thats going to look.

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation in Ivory - £8.99 - BUY

I'm no stranger to Maybelline foundation and I used to adore the Superstay 24hr product. As a drugstore product these are an absolute gem. I tend to be Ivory in a lot of foundations and I did test on my hand (naughty I know) but it blended in seamlessly so I knew I'd be okay. I can't wait to try this out and give it a full review. Also the SPF20 means I think this is going to be an ulimate go-to in summer!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - £3.22 - Not online

I've always been quite lazy when it comes to going out of my way to purchase Bioderma so when I saw this so cheaply on the shelf (there are other branded versions available) I couldn't resist! Every blogger raves about the power of Micellar Water so I'm excited to test it for myself. It looks gentle and states you get around 200 uses of it which is pretty good going for under £4.

Have you tried any of these products? I'd love to know what you think!?

Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Masque Review

I know these might not be the most sophisicated beauty item of all time, but I can bet you almost every girl has tried one of these.

The last time I tried one of these must have been back in High School when it seems like a great idea for the 99p with your friends for a sleepover.

Fast forward to being 22 years old and whilst clearing out my room, I found one of this lurking between some other bits and thought why not? Might as well give it a cheeky review rather than throwing it out.

Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Masque - £1 - Most Drug Stores - BUY

In terms of the amount you get, the 20g is so much more than I believe the average face would probably need. This means you can layer it on thick if you feel you want a more intense feeling or planning on having the mask on for longer than the 10-15 minutes it recommends.

The application was much easier than I first thought, It doesnt seem to give a gloopy effect but its also not too thick that it feels like your skins suffocating.

Although it states its Aloe Vera and Willow, the fragrance isnt that strong. The Aloe Vera is present, you can get a faint smell of that standard 'clean, natural' scent which is great, but its not as strong as you'd expect.

You can instantly see how it plans on tackling the blemishs as your pores seem to become HUGE as the masque starts to set.

I then look like The Moon from The Mighty Boosh for 15 minutes.....and thats all my positives done and dusted, this is where the negative points come creeping in.

Firstly, it takes FOREVER to wash off. (I guess this varies on how much you put on, but considering theres so much product I applied a standard thicker layer onto my face). Even when I thought I'd finished, 10 minute layer I could feel my skin starting to tighten up and turn into the greeny paste again.

Granted, over the night and the next morning my skin was super soft BUT my blemishes were made worse!
Under my cheek formed a large red blemished area and to top it off, it made my skin SUPER SUPER sensitive, so much so that my everyday Garnier Make Up Remover (Review Here) stung my face when I removed my make up an entire 24 hours later.

Would I use this again? No way, they can stay in the 13 year old girls essentials but for more mature skin, this are not the one.

So my quest for the perfect face mask continues.

Do you use these products?? Which face masque would you recommend?

My go-to Nighttime Remover

I'm certain 99% of girls will tell that the feeling of getting into bed, all cosy and snug and then remembering you've still got your make up on is the worst of all.

In fact, As much as I love it when my skin is looking its best, taking my make up off everynight is my ultimate chore.
I ALWAYS remove my make up though (unless I'm honestly that drunk), its something that really takes it toll on my skin and I know the spots that are coming to haunt my face the next day.

When choosing a product, I won't lie, I'm not that fussy at 9 o'clock at night and I wish I had more motivation to do a real skincare routine but all I required was a product that was quick and easy.

For the past couple of years, I've worked my way through a few bottles of this stuff.

Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 Make-up Remover - £3.25 - BUY

I'd  just like to point out, the ridiculously cheap price for this product was one of the first reasons I went for this but it just goes to show you don't always need to spend a fortune on a product for it to be good.

Its simple to apply just give it a good shake, and 'sprinkle'? onto a cotton wool pad.

The formula is made up of Plant Extracts and Pro Vitimin B5, so its kind to skin and with no alcohol or perfume it works like a dream on my sensitive skin.

I found you need very little to remove your make up too. (This may differ if you wear quite alot of make up but i dont)

The only downside I've found is you can't be careless once youve opened the top as it will pour onto your cotton pad and the 2 tone effect doesnt seem to even up no matter how much you shake it together, you will always lose the blue effect pretty quickly.

Sorry this isn't the worlds most thrilling post today but I'm having a lazy day and as a new blogger I realise I should get the boring daily life essentials out of the way.

Whats your top make up remover??
